So I got my EMU hooked up and shit, working. Hear music through the headphones jack, and the mic jack is working too.
BUT...
Whenever I go to actually record, and then go back to listen to it, theres this HUGE distortion of like hissing, crackling, and just the shittiest sounds ever. WTF is wrong? Do I have to many outputs inputs selected?

its not the mic.
it could be the room your recording in or maybe your settngs is wronge
when you record select only the mic input and nothing else.
check your settings... on the emu... see if you're clipping... in the patchmix... if not... try the other preamp... if it still does it... try changing to a different mic... also check your cables and make sure they are all sexy... THEN... if it continues come back... and list your computer specs...
this is what I call... trouble shooting... the bolding is probably the problem...

yea took me awhile to install my drivers n shit without seein the BLUE screen when i restart...shit pissed me off...but the emu is iight..
