im gettin that pre amp hopefully next week.. i need to know is that all i need.. i aint trying to build and studio but i want sumthing that makes my vocals sound professional.. do i need any plug ins or anything for pre amp? get at me N let me know

2nd what type of mic do you have?
i got a ARL 300 Mic i think thats the name.. my mic i can take the end part off, its a little silver piece i dont know why it comes off for but the end part of my mic is removable.. im bout to order the pre amp so do i need any xtra cables or anything to make the amp work proper?
u got a dynamic mic so u dont even need a pream if u dont want one. ur better off buyin a new soundcard instead. i would get an e-mu 0404. even if u did need a preamp that thing is a waste of money. get a Presonus TUBEPre.
wtf i paid 60$ for a dynamic? naw yo i think u got it wrong, i thought dynamics was radio shack cheap shit, at 1st i needed a pre amp u told me, now i dont.. confused, fuck a soundcard im sure my soundcard is top knotch for the simple fact my pc cost a grip like 1300$ ....get at me .. im confused
no one told u to get an ARL or wutever the fuck it is. the only $60 condensor mic u could get is the MXL 990. and no you're soundcard is NOT "top notch." u need a soundcard that is made FOR RECORDING.

a condensor mic needs a preamp in order to work. a dynamic mic doesnt.
ok how much the soundcard gon cost me..and with the 60$ mic and 200$ soundcard will it be the same as a condensor mic and pre amp?
no. that $60 dynamic mic will never sound nearly as good as the $60 condensor mic. the emu 0404 soundcard is $100.
